Making the Fusible Fabric Tapes
.jpg)
Cut the fabric into 35mm-wide strips (cut along the grain, not on the bias).
Feed the fabric strips into the Tape Maker W together with the fusible quilting tape, and press with an iron to secure.
Weaving the Tapes (Meshwork)

Draw placement and stitching lines on the base fabric as shown in the diagram. Using a strip ruler with angled markings is helpful here.

Lay the base cloth on an ironing board, peel off the tape made from fabric A, lay it out vertically, and secure it with a head pin.
Use a string threader to weave in the B fabric strips. Pick up and pass one strip over every two vertical strips, making it visible on the surface. Adjust the angle to match the guide lines.

Use a string threader to weave in the C fabric strips. Pass each strip under the vertical A strips and the adjacent diagonal B strips (running from right to lower left), bringing one strip to the surface at a time. After every 2–3 strips, carefully adjust the angle to keep the alignment neat.
Once all the strips are woven, use a needle punch or similar tool to neaten the arrangement. Press with an iron to fuse the strips to the base fabric. Trim off any excess tape along the edges.
Assembling the Tapes into a Pouch

Cut a 35 mm-wide piece of bias tape and run it through the tape maker (no need to use quilt fusible tape). Prepare about 100 cm.
Sew the bias tape around the pouch’s seam line using a sewing machine, then trim the seam allowance to 9 mm.

Fold the bias tape over to cover the seam allowance and blind stitch it in place.

Fold the piece in half with right sides together, and whipstitch both sides up to the zipper stops using small, neat stitches that won't show on the front. Attach the zipper, making sure the stitches don’t show on the outer side.

Sew the gussets to complete the pouch.
