Upcycle! Hand-sewn Sashiko Dust Cloth

These steps for making a hand-sewn dust cloth are a perfect way to spend your relaxation time. Stitching meditatively by hand in a steady rhythm will relax your mood and create a dust cloth that makes cleaning a lot of fun.


Finished Size

Approx. 15 x 18 cm

Materials

* Used hand towel (Approx. 33 cm wide and 80 cm long)

* Thick Sashiko Thread or embroidery thread

* Basting thread


Precaution

* All measurements are approximate. Adjust the measurements according to your towel size.

* The stitch length should be 1 to 1.5 cm, depending on the thickness of the towel.

* Hide the thread knots at the beginning and the end of the stitches inside the layers of the towel.

Use the longest Sashiko needle. The stitch length is about 1 to 1.5 cm and is inserted roughly. You can mark the design on the towel or stitch freely, referencing the pattern design.

Once stitching is complete, pull the basting thread out.
